Kosgei’s teenage “patient” watched on in disbelief and confusion as police waited for the suspect to regain consciousness, after which they arrested him.

Rerimoi is said to have been on the Police radar for quite sometime after they got reports from concerned members of the public who have been hearing of his strange deeds.

According to Francis Chelobei who is in charge of coordinating health services in Baringo North, they organized for a raid to ascertain what the members of the public were saying and actually found that he was not a trained medical practitioner.

“The suspect did not have even one valid operating license. We also learned that, in his clinic, he was extracting patients’ teeth without having any qualification,” said Chelobei.

He revealed that most of the drugs in the facility were expired and they were also government drugs that were not meant to be for sale.

A number of hazardous types of equipment used for procuring abortion were also found hidden in his private room.

Baringo North DCIO Paul Mwangangi, said that the suspect has been concealing his tracks for a long time, procuring abortions, adding that high school teachers have been complaining that their students visit the place to terminate their pregnancies.

“There was a door that had been made to look like a wall but it was an entry point to a mini ward where he has been carrying out the heinous acts,” he said.

He noted that the culprit who was also found selling alcohol in his clinic will face the full force of the law.

“We also discovered that the suspect sold alcohol in the clinic,” said Mwangangi.

No photo description available.

Stanley Kipkechem, a resident condemned the incident, saying that it is sad that people are conducting abortions yet others are direly looking for babies.

He lamented that most of the youth have languished in alcohol, making them unable to sire children and maybe there only chance of having a child is terminated through abortions.

Kosgei will be arraigned at the Kabarnet Law Courts on Friday, October 11.
