A gang of thieves has been exposed moments after they were filmed violently robbing staff at an entertainment joint in Nairobi.

The video shows a group of two to three thieves storming the entertainment joint and hitting staff with blunt objects as they ransack their pockets.

Another one is seen stepping on the head of a defenceless woman and repeatedly kicking her as she lies prostrate on the ground.

While the video appears to be taken on 10th September, the scenes are harrowing, casting a grim image of just how city security has deteriorated.

This comes just two days after police in Nairobi gunned down four suspected robbers who robbed and stole a vehicle at Whitecastle before fleeing the scene.

Acting on intelligence, sleuths drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based at Pangani Police Division embarked on a chase, from which four of the six suspects after they defied orders to stop the vehicle.

Police posted on the DCI Kenya Twitter handle that some two pistols loaded with several rounds of ammunition were recovered. Also found with the gang were four knives.

Earlier in September, the Interior Ministry unveiled a special women police unit to patrol the streets in a bid to manage crime incidents.

The women are trained to handle all manner of firearms, trained in Tae-Kwon-Do, Judo, Karate and wrestling.

The women police officers are also trained to scale the city’s skyscrapers to rescue hostages or victims of a fire outbreak.
