‘I Must Be Kilifi Governor Come 2022’- Aisha Jumwa Swears

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa swears that he will the governor of Kilifi County in 2022.

Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa is ready to take over the mantle of leadership of Kilifi County come to 2022 General Elections.

According to video footage uploaded by MagicalKenya news on its YouTube account, on Tuesday, Aisha Jumwa said she is ready and will beat all odds to emerge the governor after the elections.

“This group of Inua Mama you are seeing here, I want to assure you God willing come 2022 we will have 10 governors.

Apart from the other sides we as a group we are ready to give the 10 governors. I am telling you that the one who is speaking right now(referring to herself) is one of them in Kilifi county,” said Jumwa.

The MP said that time was nigh for women to fight for their rightful positions in the society adding that they had requisite numbers to facilitate such valid dreams.

Gladys Shollei joined other women leaders at Inua Mama rallies in Garissa and Tana River Counties last week.

“We are many in so many areas but we fail to have our numbers reflected in one specific area.

In funerals, we are many, in churches we dominate, when you go to prisons we are still the one dominating, in Morgues its women still the ones.

Simply everywhere you go women are many save for leadership only. We must say no. We must add our numbers in leadership,” added the MP.

Prior to her gubernatorial remarks, the second term MP had expressed reservations on changing the constitution saying they are set to quash it.

Jumwa claimed that the current constitution had reserved a special position for women hence they could not allow reforms that will victimize their position.

The ODM member-cum-rival party support also urged women to support fellow women seeking leadership positions reminding them they were capable of improving their numbers.

The Inua Mama group was officially launched last month in Malindi to rival the Embrace Women group which is seen as a pro-Raila political vehicle.

The Inua Mama group brings together pro-Ruto allies including Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru, her counterparts Purity Ngirici (Kirinyaga), Rahab Mukami (Nyeri), Joyce Korir (Bomet) and MPs Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Alice Wahome (Kandara), Mary Waithera (Maragua), Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga among others.
