Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has sent a strong warning to Jubilee candidate Macdonald Mariga ahead of Kibra’s by-elections to be conducted on November 7, 2019.
Owino who spoke hours after Bernard Otieno Okoth alias Imran was declared as Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate warned the former footballer of a humiliating defeat if he doesn’t reconsider his decision to vie.
Through his Facebook account, the vocal legislator informed the public that he will be in-charge of Kibra’s by-election adding that he will ensure that ODM candidate wins.
Congratulations to Bernard Okoth Imran for winning the Kibra Nominations. Mariga hauna bahati when I’m in charge better step aside because the political wheel will molest you.
Babu Owino the political Beast will crash you in the by-elections. You will lose and be humiliated with your political mentor.

However, Owino’s way of expression attracted anger from a section of social media users who warned the legislator against using obscene language on other aspirants.
Despite being jeered earlier on during Raila’s visit to Kibra, the candidate, Imran Okoth, who is also the brother to the late Ken Okoth, overcame nine other aspirants with 4382 votes to clinch the victory.
Peter Orero emerged second with 1218 votes while John Otieno was third with 906 votes.

The exercise was, however, marred by delays and several voters’ names were found to be missing from the IEBC register in most polling stations.
If unchallenged, ODM will forward Imran’s name to the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday.
