EALA MP Oburu Odinga has come under heavy criticism after he tried defending himself over the alleged piece of land he grabbed in Kisumu.
While addressing the press, Oburu hit at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) saying he acquired the land legally from Kenya Railways. He wondered why the government was so much interested in arresting the ‘small fish’ while leaving out big graft suspects who had grabbed huge junks of land in Kenya.
Oburu singled out Kenya Civil Aviation Land allegedly grabbed by Deputy President William Ruto saying the EACC should have instead started with reclaiming back the land which Ruto’s Weston Hotel stands.
“The reason why they are singling me out is that I am Raila’s brother. It is political,” said Oburu.

It is, however, his remarks that elicited reactions from social media users who told off Raila’s brother and asking him to carry his own cross. According to the views of many, Oburu was not a small fish as he claimed and should be prepared to bear the consequences.
