A High Court Judge Justice Mumbi Ngugi has received tremendous praises following her landmark ruling on the fate of corrupt county Governors.
In her ruling, Mumbi dealt a staggering blow to all governors facing graft charges saying that all those county bosses charged with corruption should stay away from the office and their roles completely taken over by their deputies for the duration of the trial.
Contrary to Section 62(6) of the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act which for long has been used by corrupt state officials to hang onto power, Ngugi said the section was entrenching corruption and impunity in the land.
“Section 62, is contrary to the constitutional requirements of integrity in governance and is against the national values and principals of governance and principles of leadership and integrity in Chapter Six,” Said Ngungi in part of her ruling.
The ruling came as a sweet victory to the anti-graft agencies with Kenyans from all walks of life taking to the social media sites to commend the high court and in specific judge Mumbi for her ruling.
Among the governors who risk being ousted from the office include Migori Governor Okoth Obado, Kiambu’s Ferdinand Waititu, Samburu Governor Lenolkulal among others who have been mentioned in the graft cases.

Kenyans have welcomed the ruling saying that this will discipline corrupt all corrupt and defiant county governors in the country. Most praised the judge describing her as the best judge Kenya could have.
