Who knew? Meet Kenyan celebrities who double up as pastors

The entertainment industry in Kenya has over time, proven to have no boundaries. Maybe someone of you recall a Catholic priest from Migori who would rap for his congregation, after his sermon? Then that proves how diverse the industry can be. Just recently we identified other Kenyans who seem multitalented like our priest.

To all my christian brothers and sisters, you can all agree that is nothing good compared to the sacrifice of serving God. The New Testament, says that those whom God will call through Jesus Christ, will leave behind everything including their families, jobs, friends and wealth for the purpose of being shepherds appointed by the Living God. Well, maybe the following list of Celebrities, were inspired by the verse to go and spread God’s word;

Dennis Okari

NTV’s well know investigative journalist, surprised many of his fans when he showed up his leadership skills at a local church in Nairobi back in 2018.

The sermon had been placed at Christ House Church in South B.

Okari also revealed that he was saved back when he was in High School, then became a pastor’s translator before becoming a man of God in preaching.

Kawira

Better known as Joy Karambu Furaha, Kawira of Papa Shirandula show is a huge actress not to miss on the weekly Citizen TV show.

But wait, the married wife to Pastor Ephantus Safari, and she also doubles as a pastor. She is also a blessed mother of beautiful twins.

Size 8

In December 2018, the gospel Singer Size 8 aka Linet Muraya was among the 185 graduates who celebrated their graduation at Harvest Global Church located along Kiambu Road in Satellite.

She was officially ordained into priesthood since then.

“The joy in my heart is beyond words. God thank you for the grace you have given me so far…I graduated today from Harvest Global Church bible training school.” she posted.

Vincent Opiyo

In 2019, May, Nation Media Group (NMG) sports journalist Vincent Opiyo left press word to preach God’s word upon receiving the Lord’s revelation.

Before being admitted to the priesthood, he first enrolled for lessons at Society of Jesus (Jesuits), a Roman Catholic congregation

“At the age of 12, I became an Altar Boy in my home parish, Nangina Catholic church. This was a year of finishing my catechism classes that culminated into receiving Holy Communion. It is during this period that I started dreaming of being like my parish priest who was a friend and a father figure- Said the 29 year old Journalist.

After receiving a bachelors degree, it is then he will be admitted to become a Catholic father.
