Police are investigating circumstances under which a man killed his brother after a brief misunderstanding.
The man identified as Nyakemwa Wanjogu is said to have drawn his jembe and bludgeoned his blood brother- Nyambuch Chana to death.
During the harrowing encounter, Nyakemwa is believed to have hit his brother several times on the head with the tool and killed him instantly.
Migori County Police boss, Mr Joseph Nthenge confirmed the incident saying that Nyambuch was admitted to Kehancha Hospital before he was transferred to Migori County Level IV Hospital where his body is being preserved.
This comes hot on the heels of an incident where two Migori fishermen were charged with the murder of their colleague.
The two identified as Jared Ochieng and Bernard Wesonga are said to have murdered Emmanuel Oteyo after they went fishing in the month of August 2017.
The two are said to have strangled Oteyo and thrown him in water during the fishing expedition.
The two, however, maintained that their colleague was drunk and had decided on his own volition to swim back ashore after claiming he needed rest.
The judge determining the case Anthony Mrimo, ruled that the two may have killed their colleague although the prosecution did not satisfy the judge that it was murder.
An autopsy report revealed that Oteyo was strangled before being thrown into the water. His body was discovered on the shores of Lake Victoria in the Tanzanian side.
