Top Gospel artist Guardian Angel has reacted to not being nominated in this year’s Groove Awards.
Guardian Angel was not nominated for the prestigious local Award in 2019 contrary to last year in which he won as the artiste of the year.
The ‘Swadakta’ hitmaker is one of the biggest names in the Gospel industry and who have stuck to the word unlike his counterpart, Willy Paul and Bahati.
Bahati and Willy Paul were yanked from Groove Awards some few years ago for their controversial lifestyle and music that does not conform with Christianity.
2019 nominees were mentioned two weeks ago and celebrated Guardian Angel was not mentioned something which shocked his fans.
Speaking during an interview with Milele FM, Guardian Angel told Jalang’o that he is bigger than the Award and he has grown in the music industry.
In a sarcastic tone, he said that he is now aiming at bigger awards than Groove which is Afrima and BET.
Giving an example, he added that he introduced Baraka Musiq and was nominated as the breakthrough artiste of the year and there is no way he is competing with people he introduced to the game.
But what if he was nominated, would he have said the same thing or even drop the contest and give other fresh musicians?
He has been named among the artists who will the grace the Madaraka Day celebrations on 1st of June.
