Deputy president William Ruto today held a meeting with coastal leaders during the signing of the County Participation Agreements.
The DP said that towns in the coastal counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale and Taita Taveta will benefit from the Sh10.7bn World Bank-funded water projects.
He said the project will leverage on pertinent infrastructure to promote access to clean and safe drinking water.
“The programs will strengthen interventions in improved sanitation facilities, proper hygiene and ensure efficiency in water distribution and consumption,” he said.
The county governments will identify, procure, prioritize and implement these projects while adhering to transparency and accountability for the funds.
