In this era of fake news, you never know what might be said of you so don’t be surprised when you find your name and photo in the obituaries. Well, Sofapaka coach John Baraza has had some fake news about him spread by a local paper and he is having none of it! NADA!

After Sofapaka’s loss to league leaders Gor Mahia on Sunday that effectively ended Baraza’s team pursuit of the title, The People Daily newspaper published quotes from the former Kenya International.

The quotes allegedly claim that John Baraza bemoaned Gor Mahia’s two goals terming them as offside insisting that his team will continue to look for justice on the same.

”After reviewing the videos of our match with Gor Mahia, it is clear that both goals were scored from an offside position. We have complained a lot on the levels of officiating and we will not stop seeking justice” the quote read.

Baraza has, however, come out to squash the report asking the PeopleDaily to pull down the quotes while insisting that he gave no interview to their journalists.

Nice to see someone actually standing up and shaming lazy journalism! On the flipside though, the level of officiating in the country is at an all-time low and needs to be checked!
