Swift crime response by police officers from Karagita Police Station in Naivasha has impressed area residents after they foiled a 3 am robbery at a nearby police Station.
Reports indicate that a group of more than 10 thugs had raided a Shell petrol station along Moi South Lake Road at around 3 am and rounded up four guards that were manning the facility.
According to Fred Waithaka who witnessed the whole incident, one of the guards managed to escape and ran to the police station to report the ongoing robbery.
When the police heard of the situation, they swiftly responded in a bid to avert any loss of valuables to the thugs.
The suspects fled from the scene after their efforts to break into one of the offices failed and they heard police sirens approaching.
“The officers rushed to the scene but the thugs managed to escape after failing to open the room where the cash had been kept,” Waithaka stated.
The guards escaped with minor injuries.
On the other hand, three suspected gangsters were Sunday morning shot dead by police in a botched robbery at Karatina Town in Nyeri County.
The robbers engaged police in a cat and mouse game for more than five hours before they were gunned down.The armed men are said to have been in a gang of ten when they stormed the entertainment joint and tried breaking into the cash office.
