Kalenjin famous singer Mike Rotich popularly known by his stage name Sweetstar is lucky to be alive after getting involved in an accident on Saturday, May 11 in Kapsimotwo- Kapkwen road, Bomet County.
Sweetstar known for his swag, soothing melodies and is famed for hits like Bujubuju, Nono, was driving on his Mitsubishi Lancer when the accident occurred.
Speaking to the County, the singer’s manager Hosea Kiplangat confirmed the news assuring Sweetstar’s fans that the singer was sound health wise with only minor injuries he sustained from the accident.
According to the manager, the Singer’s car was involved in a head-on collision with a boda-boda operator who was carrying a passenger. Although the passenger sustained minor injuries, the rider died on the spot. On board, the singer’s Mitsubishi Lancer were four men who all sustained minor injuries. The vehicle was overwritten in the accident.
“Yeah it’s true Sweetstar was involved in an accident, his car had four other people onboard but they are all okey,” said Kiplagat.
