Arraigned dangerous notorious house breaker Ms Waithira pleads guilty

One of East and Central Africa’s most wanted robber Ms Margaret Waithira Kamande, a notorious house breaker was arraigned before Kibera Law Court to face charges of House breaking and Stealing.

She pleaded and was fined Ksh.100,000, in default to Serve 18 months imprisonment. Her other cases are Pending before court whereby she has two other previous convictions.

On May 2 she was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives while trying to board a flight to Dar es salaam.

Described as a very dangerous criminal, Ms Kamande was linked to several high-end break-ins within Nairobi. The suspect, who was being trailed by Detectives, was captured on several CCTV cameras breaking Apartments and offices within Nairobi.

In most cases, according to the police records, the Ms Kamande would knock on the victim’s door and then men would join her as soon as it was opened before robbing them of jewellery, cash, laptops and other valuable household goods.

Ms Kamande was also linked to a robbery incident that took place in at the Blue Hut Hotel, Near Krunje House, Park Rd, Nairobi, that led to the death of a police sergeant who had been called upon to respond to the incident.

The DCI revealed that Ms Kamande was also wanted in Zimbabwe where she had skipped bail as well as several other countries in relation to similar criminal activities.

“She is also wanted by INTERPOL, Zimbabwe & other East African countries after she jumped bail which was granted by a Zimbabwean court in offences related to burglary and stealing. She had been on the run until her arrest,” an excerpt of DCI’s tweet revealed.
