After a long 9 months, 37 games from each team, countless breathless moments and goals, the English Premier League season 2018/2019 comes to an end on Sunday. Fulham, Cardiff City, and Huddersfield have already been relegated from the World’s most watched league while Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has already been awarded the league’s best player this season.

Qualification for next season’s Champions League is pretty much decided with Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur guaranteed of a spot in next years European football’s elite competition. Manchester United’s disastrous season will see them play in the Europa League next season while Unai Emery’s Arsenal still has a chance of making the Champions League via a Europa League win, they face Chelsea in the final to be held in BAKU.

The one key factor that is yet to be decided is who will be crowned as the Premier League champion. The title race has been of the best witnessed with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool pushing each other to the limit for matchday 1. You only need to look at the table to get a true reflection of the level of dominance these two teams have established in the English top flight.

Manchester City, the defending champions from last season, lead the log with a whopping 95 points while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool lurks dangerously behind with 94 points. The next in line is Chelsea with 71 points, a difference of more than 20 points. Never before has a team amassed more than 90 points in the English Premier League and failed to win the league. One of these 2 sides will on Sunday.

Sunday will see Manchester City travel to face Brighton while Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield, whatever happens though, this season will go down as one that has seen to giants go head to head, all weapons at hand but only one can win. It will not be a case of the weakest losing but rather the best getting what they deserve!
