You can criticize him all the way you want but Deputy President William Ruto is not going to stop supporting the church anytime soon. So just keep your negativity to yourself.
Tuesday provided an opportunity for the African Divine Church (ADC) to visit Ruto’s luxurious Karen home. And they came in hundreds, clad in their iconic turbans.
The church, whose headquarters are based in Musalia Mudavadi’s Vihiga County officially opened a Sacco.
“Cooperative societies and saccos are tools of resource mobilisation that empower individuals, groupings and institutions to contribute meaningfully to national development,” Ruto said after the meeting.
The members of the church entertained the DP with Luhya gospel songs and the famous Isikuti drums.
Ruto and his Tanga Tanga team have been accused of taking the corrupt money to church fundraisers. A campaign spearheaded by Raila Odinga has urged church leaders to refuse dirty money.
But Ruto has vowed to continue going to church because no one can prevent him from serving the Lord.
There have been suggestions that Ruto could be planning to use the church as his main support base ahead of the 2022 elections.
The ADC church has more than 3 million members in Kenya alone. Ruto can easily win the presidential elections if 50% of Christians vote for him.
