Kenyans Read ‘Business Rivalry’ After Prison Wardens Video Emerges

Kenyans on Social Media are reading malice in a video recorded by prison warders ransacking their colleague.

In the video, the warden is cornered and held down by at least four wardens who start to ransack his pockets and trousers for narcotics.

The warden, according to the officers pinning him down, is suspected to be in the business of selling cigarettes to prisoners incarcerated at Malindi GK Prison.

He puts up a struggle but his colleagues outnumber him, chucking out bundles upon bundles of cigarettes from his groin.

A Kenyan reacting to the video has, however, said the act could be a matter of business rivalry among the prison wardens.

Prisoners have been accused in the past of smuggling drugs into their cells. Some have also been suspected to be having their phones with them while in custody.

The video opens a potential case against the warden who, if found guilty of smuggling proscribed materials into the facility, could face court action.

Kenyans have also condemned the uniformed officer for betraying the oath of service that he took.
