How Terrorists Disguised Their Training Camp- Sri Lanka

Police in Sri Lanka arrested owners of a plot of land believed to have been the training grounds for a group of terrorists who rained terror on Christians worshipping on Easter Sunday.

The Easter attack claimed the lives of 250 people including 39 foreigners.

The bombings mostly targeted Christian churches and high-end tourist hotels in the Country’s Capital of Colombo.

The -acre plot of land in the Eastern part of Kattancudy, Sri Lanka, is the place police believe the Islamist militants had trained in bomb-making and shooting.

The plot that is hidden in a poor residential area in the outskirts of the town of Zahran Hashim, who is one of the suspected masterminds of the attack.

“They wanted to show this place was normal. If someone comes to see, it looks like a farm. But what they were doing is terrorism,” said a senior police officer in the Batticaloa area, asking to remain anonymous because he was not authorized to speak to media.

Police found bullet holes in the walls of the plot and a four-storey watch-tower in the area.

Reports indicated that police had been warned of an impending terror attack, but they ignored the warnings.

Ten minutes before the attack, India and the United States also warned Sri Lanka, but the police failed to act on the intelligence, resulting into the loss of hundreds of lives.
