One of the most brutal and feared gangsters in Kiambu shot himself dead after police cornered him in the sprawling slums of Kiandutu.

The suspect, Dennis Kimani Mwitheri alias Denoo, allegedly barricaded himself inside his house and started firing at the police who were closing on him.

Reports revealed that the officers eventually managed to make their way into the house where they subdued the suspect and fatally shot him using his own weapon.

Mr Kimani was linked to a recent kidnapping of two schoolgirls who were reported missing on May 2, 2019.

The two girls were students at Kenyatta Secondary School in Makongeni area, Thika.

Their disappearance had led to one of the most intensive searches in the area with Kiambu County Police Commander (CPC), Ali Nuno, confirming that it was their rigorous investigation that led them to Mr Kimani’s doorstep.
