Enroute to the 2017 General Elections, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Likoni Counterpart Mishi Mboko were seen by many as the face of the opposition in the Coast Region.

The two were vocal supporters of Raila Odinga and the ODM Party. They sang and highly spoke of Raila.

Fast foward in 2019, they no longer see eye to eye. One has jumped ship to Ruto’s the Tanga Tanga brigade while the other has remained loyal to the Opposition Party.

With Aisha now loyal to Ruto, she has not been seeing eye to eye with Mishi Mboko and as such, the two have nowadays engaged in Verbal confrontations with Miss Mboko getting the best of Aisha Jumwa to date.

Well, Aisha Jumwa finally got the platform to make her feelings towards Mishi Mboko known by the general public.

This was during the Funeral of Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr. William Kingi’s father. Aisha Jumwa was the MC and while introducing and recognizing present leaders, she deliberately failed to mention the name of one of her fiercest critics in the Coast region, Ms Mishi Mboko.

It was not until the Kilifi deputy governor was called to the stage that he took the trouble of introducing Ms Mboko, who had come to represent Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is away in Germany on official duties.

It will be remembered that during the Labour Day Celebrations at Uhuru Park, Mishi Mboko blasted Jumwa for openly disrespecting someone as old as Francis Atwoli, someone old enough to be her father.

According to Mboko, Aisha Jumwa should be a role model to many girls and as such, her public attacks on Atwoli were unwarranted.

“I was embarrassed to see a woman who is an elected leader (Jumwa) insult Atwoli who is respected not only in Kenya but also world over. Shame on you. Atwoli is our elder, he is someone’s husband and father. We must be role models to our girls and young women who want to be leaders,” urged the legislator.

Earlier, Aisha Jumwa snatched the microphone from ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna as she accused him of engaging in Politics at a Funeral Ceremony.

Mr. Kingi would again take the trouble of inviting Mr. Sifuna to the podium to complete giving his speech. Kingi later confirmed that Mr. Sifuna was sent by Opposition Chief Raila Odinga.

“I spoke with Mr Odinga on phone and he was to attend the funeral until something happened, and he decided to send Mr Sifuna to represent him,” Mr Kingi told the mourners.

Earlier, Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch, who was present, had told Ms Jumwa to go slow and stop abusing Mr Odinga.

Do you think Aisha Jumwa’s actions were called for?
