The Kinshasa-born rhumba artiste Mose Se Sengo, popularly known by his artistic name ‘Mose Fan Fan’ was one of the few steady music composers left in the world before his death on May 3, 2019.

Mose Se Sengo was a guitarist, composer, and band-leader from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is one of the pioneers of Congolese Soukous.

During his music career, Sengo released many thrilling songs that were played often in public places, entertainment areas and even in local radio and TV stations.

Many have praised the songs that were released by the late artiste and his music will surely last for quite a long time-without losing taste.

Even as he has departed from the world of the living, his fans have noted one of his songs that they will forever remember him for- ‘Papa Lolo’

Last year, during his interview with Jane Ngoiri on NTV, Mose pointed to Ngoiri why the music of the older days are loved in the present world and the secret for their ‘evergreen’ nature.

Ngoiri asked him the reason why music composed by young men or in modern days lose taste very fast unlike the older days’ music.

Mose stated clearly that in older days, people used to compose music with an idea of passing a message of issues affecting people in real life unlike in modern days where youths just compose songs to dance.

It is very practical in nations where most people do not understand ‘Lingala’ language but they love the songs.
