James Situma can’t wait to face former Employers AFC Leopards and Paul Were

James Situma is relishing the challenge of facing an on form Paul Were when Mathare United clash with AFC Leopards at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday.

Were has been in scintillating form for Ingwe in the second leg and has been instrumental in their rise from the relegation zone to eighth place where they are only six points behind fourth-placed Mathare United.

“He is a very good player and his statistics speak volumes about his contribution to the team in attack. However, our focus is what they can do collectively as a team and not individuals. We are prepared for a tough match just like in the first leg,” noted the former AFC Leopards defender.

Tyson Otieno and Ronald Reagan scored late in the reverse fixture to earn the Slum Boys a deserved 2-0 win. Situma insists this will be a different ball game with stakes high.

“They have improved a lot so we will be facing a different team. We have done well against teams that are enjoying a good run so we definitely want to continue with that,” added Situma.

“We also don’t want to drop points so we will try stick to our game plan as much as possible. The surface is also good which favours our style of play. It’s going to be an exciting game of two teams that play attacking football,” noted Situma.

Situma scored his first goal for the club in a similar fixture against AFC Leopards last season. It remains to be seen whether he will sting his former employer
