The Kiambu County Government has responded to the grave allegations that were made against it’s Chief Ferdinand Waititu.

While appearing before a Senate Committe on Thursday, Governor Waititu was unable to explain how his County had budgets for expenditures meant for the National Government running into billions.

The Red Flag was first raised by Auditor General Edward Ouko. According to Ouko, Kiambu County Government paid Sh902 million for coordination of State House functions and Sh58m for South Sudan peace process. Sh793m was set aside for free primary education, Sh578m on State Corporations advisory services and Sh180m emoluments for retired presidents.

It is these allocations and constant expenditures that Waititu was unable to explain. The Governor even said that they were all knew to him and that he had never seen such a document with the said expenditures.

He accused a few individuals within Kiambu County of trying to sabotage his leadership.

Waititu, through Kiambu’s Ministry of Communication has now claimed that the Senate Sermons were politically engineered to embarras him and his government by detractors who have been paying bloggers to run a sustained smear campaign against him.
