Gor Mahia head coach Hassan Oktay has lambasted Ugandan midfielder Hashim Sempala after his side were forced to come from three goals down to draw 3-3 on Thursday.

Sempala together with his Ugandan counterpart Erisa Ssekisambu was withdrawn in the first half for Boniface Omondi and Dennis Oliech respectively when Gor Mahia were two goals down in the KPL tie with the new changes forcing a draw out of the tie.

Asked about his changes at the interval, Oktay said: “It was tactical one and we scored two goals. I was not impressed by our first half show and that’s why I had to make changes.

“There was no urgency coming from Sempala. I deployed him to be the link up play between the midfield and the strikers but he decided to defend. He didn’t help the forwards at all.”

KCB had taken a 24th-minute lead through Martin Nderitu with Bolton Omwenga scoring a brace but Samuel Onyango reduced the deficit just before the break. Harun Shakava and Francis Mustafa were to come with the other goals that salvaged a point for the defending champions.
