Before the handshake between Raila and his brother Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto was a sure bet to be the next President of the Republic of Kenya.

After the handshake, Ruto went into panic mode and started early campaigns, making whistle stops across the country, in the name of inspecting govt projects. Uhuru branded him Tangatanga.

Meanwhile, his political enemies were plotting a way to stop the man from Sugoi. Gideon Moi has emerged as the best weapon to do this.

The death of Jonathan Moi, provided a perfect opportunity for Gideon to stamp his authority over the DP. Ruto was humiliated at the funeral as he had to welcome Gideon to speak last.

At the burial, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, the mother of President Uhuru was present. President Kenyattas condolences were conveyed by his brother Muhoho Kenyatta and not the DP.

Gideon and Raila have already held private talks and Raila visited Mzee Moi last year, a privilege that Ruto has not enjoyed.

A coalition is already cooking between Kenya’s elite families; The Kenyattas, The Odingas and the Mois are hell bent on maintaining the status quo.

As seen in the funeral; NASA Principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi also prefer Gideon over Ruto.

Ruto is yet to visit Ukambani region for his church harambees. That should tell you something.
