Why Ruto should be very worried about his security

It is so easy to laugh off claims that four people stole 10 crates of eggs from Deputy President’s farm in Sugoi. What is sh2500 eggs for Ruto after all? The man has been donating billions to churches.

But 10 crates of eggs is not something that can be hidden in a pocket. So how did these people manage to sneak the eggs from a heavily guarded homestead? The home of the second most powerful Kenyan?

That should be the big question on everyone’s lips. Something is not adding up. It is either Ruto’s security team is sleeping on its job or this could be part of a bigger plot.

How fif the thieves get out with the eggs without being noticed? And who leaked this information to the media? Because it seems like a well choreographed move.

In 2017, a man who looked like a terrorist, sneaked into the same homestead, killed a GSU soldier before engaging elite policemen for close to 19 hours. The incident happened a few hours after Ruto had left.

Such cases of insecurity at the home of the DP should be a huge concern, especially at a time when he has so many political enemies.

Early this month, Ruto arrived in Nyeri, only to realise that there was no police on the ground to receive him. The Interior Ministry blamed his office for the mistake.

Going forward, Ruto needs to be really worried about what is happening around him.
