In a rather bizarre and shocking incident, residents of Umoja, Nairobi, were left in shock after a woman’s body parts were found dumped in two paper bags.
The lifeless body had been put inside the garbage bags and dumped in a nearby dumping site.
Police suspect the middle-aged woman might have been murdered and mutilated at a different location before being dumped at the scene.
A resident said that it was not the first time that they have found a dead body at the site.
She said sometime last year they found a child dumped at the same place.
“Most of these incidences happen during the rainy season, we wake up and find a body dumped here,” she said.
Police have asked anyone who has a relative missing to go to the nearest police station and report.
Elsewhere, a Kisii man who unsuccessfully tried to drown himself in Kigati river after he had strangled his wife dead has been arrested.
The suspect was retrieved from the river by night guards while in critical condition.
He was arrested Monday morning following the incident that took place Sunday night.
“The man came home drunk at around 10 pm. When the wife asked him where he was from, fighting ensued,” said a neighbour.
The area chief said preliminary investigations indicate Geoffrey strangled Dorcah to death. Vomit was found on the scene of crime.
The suspect then laid the deceased body on the bed and covered her in blankets after committing the crime.
In Bungoma, a normal drinking competition has turned tragic for a man who died Monday morning after consuming excessive alcohol.
The 28-year old and his colleagues reportedly met at a drinking den at Mukosi village in Kimilili Constituency on Sunday night at around 9pm when they embarked on a binge drinking that would later turn tragic.
According to report, the participants were handed a five-litre bottle full of chang’aa and the winner was to walk away with Ksh.1,000 only.
Margaret Waswa, a village elder confirmed that soon after the competition ended the deceased collapsed with some of the revellers opting to take him home to sleep while others fled the scene.
He was confirmed dead on Monday morning with his body being moved to Kiminini Funeral Home in Trans Nzoia County.
