A drugs gang of three members nabbed with bhang of street value worth sh 10 million were on Monday arraigned in a Nairobi court
Simon Kariuki Wangechi and his employees; Hussein Nganga Abdalla and Gabriel Mwangi, were presented before Magistrate Elekta Riany where the prosecution sought more time to complete investigations.
According to police, the three suspects have been selling drugs within Kasarani sub-county and learning institutions in the area.
In a miscellaneous application, police asked the court to detain the three men for a period of seven days to allow them complete
“The investigations are still ongoing and we are yet to record statements of witnesses which may lead to more arrests,” said lead investigator Elphas Ngetich.
The court granted the prosecution four days to hold the suspects.
The baron identified as Simon Kariuki Wangeci (street name; Tony) was allegedly caught pants down as the officers walked in on him while he was stacking roles of weed into gunny bags alongside two of his henchmen.
Kasarani Sub-County Police Commander (SCPC) Peter Kimani and his DCI counterpart, Mwenda Meme, spearheaded the operation in what was reportedly a joint-force operation.
