Pochettino Gives His Fears For The Top-Four Finish

Tottenham Hotspur are currently enjoying a stable third position after their victory over Brighton on Tuesday.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal faced a humiliating defeat on Wednesday, giving Spurs some rest of four points ahead.

If Spurs win against West Ham on Saturday, they will go seven points ahead of the number five and six.

Despite all these, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has said that he is not ‘confident’ yet.

Speaking during his interview, the Argentinian manager said, “I believe in us. I believe and I have faith and I believe it’s in our hands, but at the same time never confident. I don’t like the word confident.

“I think trust, being tough with ourselves and believing in ourselves that is completely different to being confident. When you’re confident, you make yourself weak.

“I think it’s so important to understand that for our players to have the possibility to compete in our best tomorrow we must be 200 percent, not 100 percent, focused on giving our best against West Ham.”

Certainly, Poch is right since anything can happen in football and especially with the Premier League teams.

Also, with the distraction of the oncoming Champions League, Spurs are likely to grow tired and find it hard to play both competitions against other top-four competitors who have no other serious matches.
