The PFA team of the year is already out for the year 2018/2019.
The list is dominated by two current top League contenders-Manchester City and Liverpool, which many have welcomed.
In fact, no one has raised any argument about that.
Unfortunately, the inclusion of one Manchester United player in the squad has raised eyebrows with many questioning the criteria that was used to select Paul Pogba in the team.
Ironically, the votes were cast by fellow professional footballers but football pundits and fans totally disagree with the selection.
But like him or not, Pogba has been endorsed by statistics and not by anyone’s favour. He deserves to be included.
According to WhoScored.com who took time to look for facts and name their team of the year, Pogba surprisingly made it to their team.
This is the statistics that made him there;
Stat-wise, Pogba has had a terrific season. He’s contributed to 21 league goals this season – more than any central midfielder in Europe’s top five leagues. His goals and assists have earned United 22 points.
Pogba has contributed to many goals despite him being just a midfielder albeit his poor form this season.
