Deputy President Dr William Samoei Ruto on Sunday joined the Salivation Army Church in Kakamega for a fund raising.
The DP was accompanied by his close allies from the region, who helped him get to the stage to show off some of his ‘evangelistic’ dancing styles.
While The Salivation Army Choir dropped Luhyia Gospel Songs hit by hit, being soloed by Webuye East MP Dan Wanyama, Ruto swang swiftly as he trying hard to adopt the Shoulder Shaking style of Western.
His political ally the Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was also swinging swiftly from Ruto’s side as the Veteran Luhyia dancer and bull fighter Boni Khalwale helped them master the styles quickly.
However, Kenyans on twitter who have reacted to the video argue that the DP was making the Church dance for Arror and Kimwarer dams’ money when the real beneficiaries are dying of hunger.
Some laughed off saying that corruption has been taken to church whilst some argued that the DP was showing desperation of the highest order.
The DP donated Ksh 5 million at the fund raiser while Khalwale, Waititu and Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali donated Ksh 100,000 each. Their Kimilili Counterpart Didmus Barasa donated Ksh 40,000.
