The Energy Regulatory Commission announcement of increased fuel prices in Kenya was met with mixed reactions by Kenyans.
A Kenyan identified as Jay Kelly tweeted:
When fuel goes up, prices goes up whether it's transport or food, but when prices goes down nothing changes when increased again prices still go up again. So it's only in Kenya where prices only go up and never down.#WakeUpKenya#ValueKenyans

That’s almost 2b in profits in the month ending 14th May for all the fuel marketers in Kenya given a daily fuel demand of 12.5 million litres, assuming that costs haven’t actually changed much…prices should be left to the invisible hand, not the invincible hand…
