Late last years, thousands of Kenyans thronged KICC to sample what Chinese offers in the Kenyan market during a three-day China-Kenya Industrial Capacity Cooperation Exposition held in Nairobi.
Notably, the Chinese condoms caught the attention, the free samples and sex-drug made in China were centers of attraction.
Stands and tents were erected to showcase goods from various sectors, among them the transport and housing sectors. But a majority of the visitors were excited by the sex products
But before the end of the much-hyped expo, Chinese ran out of free condoms and sex enhancing drugs courtesy of Hongyang Pharmacy by the second day of the event.
“Our Chinese condoms are designed to fit African and mostly Kenyan men. But at the moment, our customers cannot find these products here because they are yet to undergo evaluation and testing by the relevant government bodies,” said Benson Kamau, a Chinese interpreter manning the sex products stand.
He added, “Our products have been in the market for 23 years now, even though we are yet to open a shop locally,” According to Kamau, their tent was the most visited, dispelling fears that the Chinese condoms are too small for ‘blessed’ Kenyans.
“We are using this expo to test the market before launching our products, and so far, so good,” he promised.
