Liverpool Legend Tells Why Salah is Not Fit For Liverpool Legendary

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol reckons Mohamed Salah “can’t find a red jersey with a pass” after another disappointing outing in Liverpool’s 2-0 Champions League over FC Porto.

The Egyptian forward is seemingly going through the most difficult phase of his Liverpool career right now on the back of only scoring twice in his last 13 games.

Salah’s form has been a cause of concern over at Anfield, with many questioning what happened to the star who struck 44 goals in just 52 appearances last season.

“And then when he has a shot, that’s the only time he’s finding a red jersey because he hit [Jordan] Henderson once and he hit [Roberto] Firmino straight in the back as well.

“But you know what, you can’t not play him. He showed us at the weekend [against Southampton] that when he has an opportunity and he gets everything right – he’s world class.

“Right now, that’s only coming in spurts. But he’s got enough in the bank that he deserves to play and he should continue to play.”

After failing to impress on Tuesday night, Salah will now be looking to put it behind him and focus on getting back among the goals in Sunday’s Premier League clash with old club Chelsea on Sunday.

The likes of Emile Heskey have voiced their belief that Salah is simply trying too hard to match Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal tallies to earn himself the status of their equal.

And now ex-Liverpool defender Nicol is the latest to join in on the Salah debate, where he suggests that the 26-year-old’s passing is a problem for Jurgen Klopp’s side following the Reds’ 2-0 first leg win over Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals.

“At the moment he can’t find a red jersey with a pass,” Nicol said.
