How New Education CS Magoha Rejected a Congratulatory Message From UON Senate

The silent power struggle between Education Cabinet secretary Prof George Magoha and Nairobi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Peter Mbithi is far from over.

It has now been revealed that when Prof Magoha was recently sworn in as education CS, Prof Mbithi influenced the University Senate and Council to write a congratulatory message to Magoha that was delivered at his Jogoo House office.

The message had it that the entire university of Nairobi wished him well in his new national duties and was proud to be associated with him having served as VC of the institution.

It is said Prof Magoha read mischief in the move and dismissed the letter .When Prof Magoha handed to Mbithi as VC after his term ended, Prof Mbithi immediately started to cut him down to size.

He made sure Magoha did not enjoy certain privileges and allowances on grounds he had vacated position of VC .

At one time, Prof Mbithi even ordered Magoha to get clearance from the senate and his office if he wanted to visit Chandaria centre, Magoha’s brainchild while then VC.

Prof Mbithi even accused Prof Magoha for interfering with the running of University pension scheme.
