How 22-year-old Sudanese student used University skills to kick out Al-Bashir

A photo of a brave woman leading the singing and protest of Sudanese in Khartoum has made headlines.

Alaa Salah, a 22-year-old lady, has been the symbol of the protest and has won the hearts of many.

The current wave of protests against the 30-year rule of Omar al-Bashir started in December but intensified at the weekend when protesters stormed cross roads.

The protests resided over by the young woman came as a surprise since she is only 22 years.

Her prowess in speaking in a big crowd is attributed to her University studies where she has practiced presenting.

She studies Engineering and architecture at Sudan Intl University.

She also revived the words chanted by protesters in 2008 and 2013 which reads, “The bullet doesn’t kill. What kills is the silence of people.”

After the protest, she took to her social media to thank everyone and urged them to continue with the same spirit.
