Ever since Unai Emery took the wheel from Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, his have only lost twice at home; the first one was the first game of the Premier League season when they hosted Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City while the other was a 2-0 loss to Spurs in the Carabao cup quarter final.
Currently, the Gunners are in a 10 matches winning streak at the Emirates Stadium, a run that includes games against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United. They always win at home and Thursday should be no different.
Unai Emery and the Europa League
Before he moved to PSG and later Arsenal, Unai Emery made a name for himself by winning 3 consecutive Europa League titles with Spanish club Sevilla. It is for this reason that he was hired by Arsenal, to win the Europa League and get back into the Champions League.
This is a competition the Spaniard takes very seriously and one that he knows what is required to win. Finishing in the top 4 would also get Arsenal back into the Champions League but the Europa League seems like the easiest route there, and Unai Emery just knows how to!
Napoli have been poor
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have not been posting good results and have only won twice in their past 5 matches, losing the other 2 while drawing the other one at home to Genoa. It was something their manager pointed out after the Genoa draw stating that they have no chance in London should they continue playing in the same manner.
When you factor in Arsenal’s impressive home form and Napoli’s recent showings, it is hard to see them getting a result at the Emirates Stadium.
