MP drags workaholic Matiang’i into Gikomba fire

Kamukunji MP Hon Yusuf Hassan has issued a statement regarding investigations surrounding common fire cases at Gikomba market.

The embattled city market is located in his constituency and falls in Pumwani Ward.

Hon Hassan through his tweeter account on Wednesday revealed that he had engaged Dr Fred Matiang’i CS for The Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government to provide updates on previous tragic fire incidents in the market.

According to the statement viewed by Daily Active, the legislature also raised the question at Parliament on March 14 on the progress of the investigations.

Hon Hassan had presented three fundamental issues to be addressed:

1. The outcome of previous investigation
2. People arrested regarding the case
3. Safety measures put in place to avert future incidents.

He was also sympathetic for the current losses caused by Wednesday fire.

“Sadden by the outbreak of yet another fire in Gikomba. My thanks and congratulations to the firefighters for their swift action and bringing the fire under control.” stated Hon Hassan.
