Apparently, Netflix is not as mean as Apple Inc, it is well noted that with Apple AirPlay iPhone users had the power to cast films from their iPhones to their TVbut all that is about to change.
Netflix has removed support for Apple AirPlay, meaning users can no longer cast TV programmes and films from their iPhones to their TVs.
The change is allegedly linked to a firmware update that will see Apple send content directly to 2019 TVs.
In an official statement on the change, a spokesperson for Netflix said: “We want to make sure our members have a great Netflix experience on any device they use.
“With AirPlay support rolling out to third-party devices, there isn’t a way for us to distinguish between devices (what is an Apple TV vs. what isn’t) or certify these experiences.
“Therefore, we have decided to discontinue Netflix AirPlay support to ensure our standard of quality for viewing is being met.
“Members can continue to access Netflix on the built-in app across Apple TV and other devices.”
On Netflix’s website, it now advises iOS users to connect to a TV using Chromecast, Netflix 2nd Screen or a physical cable.
