I will resign from my position in ODM, declares Sifuna

Edwin Sifuna has declared that he is under pressure following the recent defeat from the just concluded by-election in Ugenya and Embakasi South Constituency.

According to Sifuna he is ready to resign from his seat as Secretary general if the members so think he is inefficient.

While speaking in an interview he noted that most of the blame has been on him after the defeat.

“I am ready to exit the office for another person if my leadership is considered insufficient,” he said.

The former Nairobi senatorial aspirant acknowledged that the party has many other youthful and able persons who can take up different leadership roles in the political outfit.

He hailed the Raila Odinga-led side, terming it a steady bloc whose strength and talented membership cannot be matched by any other party in the nation.

“Katika ODM tuko na talanta nyingi, sijaona chama chenye talanta kama ODM. Tuko na watu wa kutosha kuongoza (we have enough leaders in ODM who can occupy the different available spots. We are a very talented party),” said Sifuna.
