Ronald Ayiera Nyoro, the security guard who accused Supreme Court Judge Justice Mohammed Ibrahim of threatening to shoot him following a disagreement, has withdrawn the claim.
In a letter addressed to the Gigiri DCI chief, Nyoro says he did not wish to proceed with the case , which was initially reported at the Springs Valley Police Station following the alleged incident in March 21.
The judge had already recorded a statement with detectives at Gigiri Police Station, where he admitted having what he termed as a slight disagreement with the guard but denied brandishing a gun or threatening to shoot him.
Police investigations later revealed that the judge holds no gun since he is not a licensed firearm holder, casting doubts on the guard’s accusations.
In a statement signed by Ibrahim’s lawyer Wambua Kilonzo, the judge says he does not wish to pursue the matter that would have put a dent on his long career in the Judiciary.
According to lawyer Kilonzo, it is the guard who approached the judge through his lawyer, saying “he had voluntarily made the decision to withdraw the complaint against the judge.”
