The Say that he who laughs last laughs best seem to have finally made sense to Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula who until yesterday was nursing wounds of being ousted from his position as Senate Minority leader by the ODM Party.

In March last year, The Orange Democratic Party ousted then Senate Minority leader Moses Wetang’ula of Ford Kenya and replaced him with its own James Orengo.

At least 19 senators who attended the coalition’s Parliamentary Group meeting unanimously voted to replace Wetang’ula with Siaya Senator James Orengo.

Wetangula’s ouster brought some bad blood in NASA with Ford Kenya and Wiper arguing that ODM was bullying other members of the coalition.

Well, it seems like the just ended by-elections in both Ugenya and Embakasi South Constituencies brought some sort of retribution for Wetangula and other members of NASA like Kalonzo Musyoka and the Wiper Democratic movement who had in fact requested ODM not to field a candidate in Embakasi South.

David Ochieng, Winner of Ugenya Constituency By-Elections

ODM lost in both constituencies, a loss that Political pundits say show how ODM’s fortunes are dwindling and that an Anti-Raila Wave is infact growing even in areas he once considered his Strong-holds.

In Embakasi South, Wiper’s Julius Mawathe trounced ODM’s Sumra after he was declared winner of the by-election with 21,628 votes.

Sumra emerged a distant second with 7,988 votes.

In Ugenya Constituency, Ochieng’s 18,730 votes pushed him to the top.

He vied on a Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) ticket.

Raila’s candidate, Christoper Karan (Orange Democratic Movement) emerged second with 14,507 votes.

After the results were officially declared, an elated Moses Wetangula took to his official Twitter Account to congratulate both Ochieng and Mawathe for bagging their respective wins at the expense of ODM candidates.

“Congratulations David Ochieng and Julius Mawathe for winning mini elections in Ugenya and Embakasi South respectively. Our support and prayers were not in vain. Mungu halali, hasahau wala hachoki!!!” Said Wetangula.
