Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is set to sign for Real Madrid and his move to Los Blancos will be sealed in the coming days.
The three parties – Chelsea, Madrid and the player himself – are close to reaching a total agreement and the Belgium international will soon travel to Madrid, where he will stay for the next six seasons.
In the latest development, AS are reporting Hazard is set to seal his move to the Spanish capital ‘in the coming days’, with a ‘total agreement’ reached between Chelsea, Real Madrid and the player himself.
According to reports, Zinedine Zidane gave his approval for the transfer last week after taking into consideration the needs of Madrid’s current squad.
The Frenchman, who was reappointed as Los Blancos chief last month, has been promised a massive overhaul of his current crop of players and has already signed Porto defender Eder Militao.
Hazard, 28, has always idolised Zidane and dreamt of a move to Los Blancos.
The Blues winger has been stalling on signing a new contract with the west London club, with his current deal up at the end of next season.
The Frenchman is fond of Hazard’s skills, including his pace and speed, all characteristics that the current side lack.
Madrid first approached the Blues last summer as they looked to acquire the 28-year-old, but Chelsea asked for 200 million euros and Los Blancos withdrew their interest.
He will reportedly sign a six-year deal with the club, keeping him Bernabeu-bound until 2025.
Hazard has been Chelsea’s standout performer this season with 14 goals and 12 assists.
He was once again impressive in midweek after netting once and adding an assist as Maurizio Sarri’s side dispatched Brighton 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
