Simon Gitari on Thursday surrendered himself to police after killing his ex-wife’s new lover.
The 40-year-old took himself to Wang’uru Police Station, from where it also emerged that the deceased is also his cousin.
According to Mwea-East OCPD Dorothy Gaitenga, Gitari told her he was not happy with with his cousin Simon Muriithi having an affair with his former wife.
Gitari is said to have stormed into her ex-wife, Josephine Wawira’s house and stabbed his cousin to death despite having been separated for seven years.
In a fit of rage, he somehow managed to find a kitchen knife and stab the deceased, Simon Muriithi to death.
Angry residents had been looking for the suspect since the incident.
