Manchester City set to sign Madrid midfielder for £60million

Pep Guardiola has identified the replacement for midfielder Fernandinho as Premier League leader Manchester City eye a summer move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri as they continue the search for an heir to the Brazilian, and the Spaniard is valued for approximately 60 million pounds.

Manchester City have added Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri to their list of potential targets for the summer. The 22-year-old holding midfielder has impressed since joining from Villarreal for £18m last summer.

It is expected Atletico will not allow Rodri to leave for any less than his buy out clause which stands at £59.8m. The Spain international is being considered as City want cover for Fernandinho who is 34 in May.

City also admire Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, who has attracted interest from several high-profile clubs around Europe. The Frenchman, also 22, is believed to be keen on a move away with Lyon hoping to receive around £45m for his services.
