Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he has no room for many defeats following his side’s 2-1 loss to Wolves on Tuesday night.
With the defeat, the Old Trafford side missed the chance to move to third on the Premier League table ahead of Arsenal and Spurs.
United will clash with Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea before the Premier League season ends, meaning that they face a tough battle to secure a top-four finish.
And Solskjaer says United need 15 points from the remaining 18 to secure a top-four spot.
Asked if his side can still make the top four, Solskjaer replied: ‘Of course. It [the defeat] is three points. We knew that beforehand we’d need 15 points to get to that position.
‘We’ve got six games to get those 15. We need to look forward and dust ourselves down.
‘I have said we needed 15 points from seven points. Now it is 15 from six.
‘We don’t have room for many losses. It is difficult for us but we are a very good team, so it will be difficult for the teams who played against us’.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to secure the services of Man United target and Paris Saint-Germain box-to-box midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The 23-year-old Frenchman is expected to depart from the Ligue 1 champions on a free transfer when the summer transfer window will be re-opened in the summer, having failed to agree on a new deal to extend his stay at Parc des Princes.
The likes of Man Utd, Liverpool and Barcelona have all been rumoured with securing the services of Rabiot, but according to Sport, the Los Blancos are believed to be frontrunners for his signature.
The report suggests that the European heavyweights have agreed on terms with the 23-year-old midfielder ahead of a potential switch at the end of the season.
Rabiot has not made a first-team appearance since the December 11. However, his signing would represent a significant coup for the Los Blancos and returning head-coach Zinedine Zidane.
Liverpool see Adrien Rabiot as an ideal replacement for Naby Keita who has failed to establish himself at Anfield despite his big money move from Leicester City in the summer.
Manchester United keen on to sign him as a replacement for Ander Herrera whose current deal set to expire after the end of the 2018/19 season.
However, both Premier League teams will have to look elsewhere as Real Madrid are currently frontrunners to get the deal done.
