On Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta led the country in a historic Huduma Namba registration exercise by signing for his own Huduma Namba and flagging off the distribution of NIIMS registration kits to all the 47 counties.
He rolled out the project at Masii Public Grounds in Machakos County while opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetang’ula oversaw the exercise in Mombasa, Murang’a and Kajiado in a historic demonstration of national unity and common purpose.
But as the country marked this important exercise, some false and misleading information about the Huduma Namba have been doing round on most social media sites causing panic among most Kenyans.
The Daily Active sought to put the records straight concerning this exercise that has been widely misunderstood by many citizens.
Here are the Full Details of what the exercise involves and why it is important for all Kenyans to embrace it:
(i) Time for registration is from 7.00am to 5.00pm daily including weekends and public holidays.
(ii) Mass registration exercise for NIIMS/Huduma Namba will be conducted for a period of Forty Five (45) days beginning 2nd April 2019.
(iii) Registration for Huduma Namba is MANDATORY.
(iv) During the mass registration exercise, all citizens and foreigners residing in Kenya MUST be registered.
(v) Bio-metrics taken are Fingerprints and Facial picture ONLY.
(vi) DNA samples will NOT be taken during registration.
(vii) A person who is not registered under the Huduma Namba program WILL NOT access government service.

Registrations that will be harmonized into ONE Huduma Namba include:

√ Application and renewal of Driving License;
√ Registration for Passport and Alien Card;
√ Registration for NHIF and NSSF cards;
