Police officers in Kirinyaga County are looking for a 40-year-old man who murdered his friend aged 45 claiming that the friend started a relationship with his ex-wife whom they separated 7 years ago.
Simon Gitari allegedly stabbed Simon Muriithi to death after he spotted Muriithi entering Josephine Wawira’s house at Kamucege Village in Mwea on Tuesday night.

According to Wawira, 37, the suspect who seems to have been stalking ex-wife, stormed her house shortly after Muriithi’s arrival and demanded her to explain why she allowed Muriithi access to her house that late in the night.
A heated argument ensued and the suspect, thereafter, reached for a kitchen knife and stabbed Muriithi to death. Wawira sustained injuries in her arms in the event.

Wawira raised the alarm, but Gitari escaped before neighbours arrived at the scene.
Mwea East Deputy County Commissioner, Edwin Chabari, confirmed the incident, saying police are looking for the suspect.
Gitari and Wawira separated seven years ago, and were blessed with two children.
