Governor Joho dives to action to avert perennial Mombasa floods

Governor Hassan Joho has swiftly dived into action to prevent the looming floods common on Mombasa roads in the event of rains.

In anticipation of the long rains the County Government of Mombasa through the Department of Transport and Infrastructure has started the construction of stormwater drainage systems in various parts of the County that are prone to flooding.

“The technical team is currently on site at leisure area along Mombasa -Malindi Highway, Umoja Estate -Tamarind Hotel area, Chaani and Kwashee in Mikindani.” read a statement.

In the statement seen by Daily Active, motorists have been alerted of slight traffic disruptions during the process.

“Motorists may slightly be affected but the County Inspectorate has put in place measures to minimise disruption of traffic flow.” concluded the statement.
