Tanzanian Musician Diamond Platinumz’s father, mzee Abdul Juma has made up his mind and entered into music industry, a move that has caught many by surprise.
Mr Juma, who has given himself the stage name Baba Diamond aka Big Lion aka Mzee Mondi, collaborated with upcoming Tanzanian artistes Sungura Madini, Promis Nyota and Blod Gaz in a new song titled “Umeniteka”.
The new jam was released on Tuesday, April 2.
News about Mr Juma’s plunge into music has attracted mixed reactions online, with those approving of his newly found activity saying so long as it would financially benefit the old man, they would support him.
It remains unclear what pushed Mr Juma to try his hand at music, though a section of online users speculate that the alleged neglect by his superstar son could have left him with no choice, but to try his luck in the extremely competitive industry.
